Email Pace about privacy or safetyWho provides Pace
Pace is provided by Redclan Ventures Ltd, company number 17142372, registered in England and Wales. Our address is 55 The Grove, Baildon, Shipley, BD17 5ND, United Kingdom. Email alec@syntheticceo.com for help, complaints or questions about these terms. These rules apply to the Pace app and website.
Using the planner
Pace is intended for people aged 13 and over. It helps you organise revision, record study and understand your progress. It does not guarantee exam results or replace your school's or exam board's instructions. Check important exam dates, subjects and paper details against your official information. This launch has no paid checkout or subscription. Any future paid service will explain its price and terms before you choose it.
Your account and invitations
Use an email account you control and keep your sign-in links private. Do not impersonate someone else or use another person's account without their permission. Invite only people you know and trust, and check the destination email. An invitation or a verified email does not prove a parental relationship. Contact us if an invitation or linked account seems wrong.
Family sharing is your choice
Joining a family does not enable optional sharing. Students choose separately whether to share a parent summary, join the family league or receive the three preset encouragement messages. Parents cannot enable those choices for a student. You can withdraw a choice or leave a family while keeping your private study history. These terms are not consent to sharing or a substitute for the privacy notice. See Family sharing for the fields, recipients and controls.
Keep Pace safe and respectful
Use names and study titles for their intended purpose. Do not use Pace to threaten, bully, harass, discriminate, exploit children, share illegal material or impersonate another person. Do not put harmful links or someone else's sensitive personal information in those fields. Do not try to access another family's records, defeat account security or disrupt the service. Pace has no public posting, photo uploads or free-text direct messages.
Email alec@syntheticceo.com to report a concern, explain what happened or challenge an account restriction. You do not need legal words. Our safety page explains the reporting and complaint route. Pace is not an emergency service.
Your information and content
You keep any rights you have in the information you enter. We use it only as needed to provide and secure Pace and for the purposes explained in the privacy notice. These terms do not transfer ownership of your study content to us. Use of personal information follows the stated lawful bases and your separate sharing choices, rather than a blanket agreement to data use.
Service changes and account restrictions
We provide Pace with reasonable care and skill. Maintenance, updates or technical faults can interrupt access or sync. We will explain significant changes that affect your use; security or legal changes may need prompt action. Offline records remain on your device until they can sync, so check that important sessions have reached your account before clearing local data.
We may restrict an account or remove content where reasonably necessary to protect users, secure the service or comply with law. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and how to ask for a review. We may withhold details where disclosure would endanger someone or prejudice an investigation. A restriction is not permission to keep unnecessary information indefinitely.
Leaving, deletion and complaints
You can stop using Pace at any time. Leaving a family and deleting an account are separate actions. Settings contains the account-deletion flow; the public Account deletion page explains what is removed, what may remain and how to request help if you cannot sign in. Parent account deletion does not delete a student's separately claimed account. For complaints, email alec@syntheticceo.com; our privacy-rights and safety pages describe the applicable processes.
Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms removes your mandatory consumer or data-protection rights, or excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful. This includes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. There is no blanket waiver of responsibility for our service.
English and Welsh law applies to these terms, subject to the mandatory protections that apply where you live. You can use the courts available to you under applicable law, including your local courts where consumer law allows. These terms do not require exclusive use of courts in England or prevent a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office or another competent authority.
Changes to these terms
We keep the date of this page current and explain material changes in the app or website before they apply where reasonably possible. We do not use a terms update to retrospectively remove legal rights or to turn on optional family sharing. A new sharing purpose or recipient needs the applicable fresh choice.
